Fresh Fruits (except citrus): At the table, either the American or Continental way. Continental is to skin the fruit, halve and stone it, then cut into small pieces and eat with a fork. The American way is to halve, quarter, and stone the fruit with the knife and fork, but not skin it (except peaches); eat the quarters with a fork. Fresh grapes and cherries are eaten whole; remove pits with the fingers; place on side of plate.
